Ben Workman, an athlete his whole life, now shares his knowledge with the kids he trains, as well as the teams he coaches.
"My goal is to build up each player by helping them think, learn and lead individually; hone in their athleticism, and to encourage a fearless attitude to face adversity."
As a player, with 14+ years of club soccer, 5 of those being in the Olympic Development Program, Ben uses his experience as a high performing player to better his training sessions.
Now, Coach Ben has obtained his D level coaching license in US Soccer, and continues to seek furthering his coaching knowledge.
Knowing what it takes to be at the top of your game, Coach Ben values offering all the resources at his disposal to assist a developing player. That's why he offers Friday Night Futsal at an affordable rate, to be an option for any family.

At each stage of development, I focus on a different aspect of the athlete's needs.
- From ages 4-5 I focus on the love and fun of the game, and on basic movements and techniques with the ball.
- From ages 6-7, I focus on the fundamentals and basics of shooting, passing, defending and dribbling, using teaching methods that help their technique.
- From ages 8-9, I focus on advanced fundamentals, such as learning new skills and ways to use their body in different ways, plus reaction speed and scanning the field.
- From ages 10-11, I focus on the player becoming their own unique individual, and to find the position on the field they'll excel at. I'll also be enhancing their reaction speed and ability to scan the field, in combination with bringing out their competitive side to help them improve faster than they could've imagined.
- Ages 12+ I will circle back to correct their weaknesses, keeping the love for the game alive, and to help them find intrinsic motivation to improve on their own, when nobody is watching.
I aim to perfect their fundamentals of: movement, scanning the field, positioning, body shape, and ball control. With these, I want them to gain confidence and use their ability to make quick and smart decisions. I then want to implement strategy and the ideas surrounding the game, so they can learn to think on their own.
My goal for every age group is to increase their autonomy, to feel comfortable and confident with their skill set, and their drive to continue to make mistakes and improve.
I have played club soccer for 14+ years in the DFW area, with 5+ years doing Olympic development training. I've traveled to 3 separate states with the 1st team in my age group.
I kicked for a year and a half at an NCSA college. I was then offered an opportunity to walk onto a DI University to kick for the football team, but instead chose to go to a smaller DII school to kick for their team.
